Hello world!

Well, here it is. My very first blog as a Writer. Eek! Did I just say the “W” word? Yes, it’s true. I’m a writer. I’ve been writing since I was very young, starting with those ever-so-corny “Gosh I sure love my horse” stories and evolving to those timeless classics: The forlorn, lovesick, adolescent girl poems. (Hold on to your hats, folks. I might even share some of those with you someday…)

Like many people, I have a long list of things I want to do someday, and writing has always been very near the top. In the midst of doing some of the other things on my list, I have always found time to write; much to the chagrin of some of the recipients of my mental meanderings. I’ve written and sold Opinion articles and Q&A columns and articles about horse care and training. I’ve written grant proposals and essays, research papers and argumentative legalese. I’ve written to my Congressman, my Governor, my President, and I even wrote to the Queen of England once. (And received a reply!). But one thing I haven’t done, but have always wanted to do, is write Adventure Fantasy fiction. That is what brings me here today.

I am inviting you to share this journey with me. I’ll be posting updates and excerpts of my work-in-progress. I’ll be sharing my frustrations and my triumphs. I’ll be screaming at the ants in my kitchen and waxing philosophically about the struggling little flowers on my porch. You will have a desk-side seat to observe as I find my way through this new world that I know very little about. (What the heck is a domain, anyway?) And someday, I WILL publish my work.  And you, dear friend, (imagine strange woman waving wildly at you like you’re her new best friend), will be able to say “I remember when she was just rambling on nonsensically in her first blog post because she didn’t know what else to say.”
